2. Coordination between the Eyes and Hands
It’s no secret that kids love to play. Kindergarteners can get hours of enjoyment from the simplest of things, so it makes sense to utilize this natural tendency towards playfulness to enhance their learning experience. Digital learning games can improve kindergarten math skills simply by being fun for the kids who play them. Instead of sitting down with a worksheet or textbook, your child can use your home computer to enter an interactive learning environment that provides the tools they need to grasp basic math concepts. As they navigate their way through colorful levels filled with interesting characters, they’ll be building the skills necessary to get them ready for addition, subtraction and other more advanced childhood math.
Children first learn the sound a letter makes, for example a, like hat and bat. They then learn that that letter is called A. After learning the sound of the first letter they will combine two letters, for example they will learn b as in bat and ball and then they will learn bl to say blue and so on.
Another advantage of coloring pages is that they provide your child with the chance to strengthen their hand eye coordination, as they learn to color in the lines. This skill will develop gradually as they go from struggling to stay inside the lines, to perfecting this fine motor activity.
It can often become difficult to interact with children or write something that they will understand unless the chosen vocabulary words are widely understood by all. A collection of all the words familiar to a person within a certain language is known as that person’s vocabulary. One of the more popular ways to expand a person’s vocabulary is for a parent or a teacher to use vocabulary worksheets as an aid in the teaching process.
Math worksheets rarely ask students to think critically or creatively. They usually present multiple examples of the same problem type with the hope of reinforcing a skill or procedure. They do not challenge students to use higher order thinking skills such as comparing, analyzing, deducing, and synthesizing. These skills are built through activities in which students discover concepts, explore ideas, test a hypothesis, solve a problem, and discuss their thinking with their peers. Exploring concepts and problems in many different ways builds interest and promotes critical thinking.
