Coloring Book Haunted House - Give Your Child a Fun Activity
The popularity of coloring books, more than ever before, is a testament to the fact that coloring has never been easier. Coloring books are easy to make with supplies you probably already have at home and a desire to color. You don't need to be a super-artistic illustrator or even a very good painter. You just need to have some patience and a bit of imagination.
Coloring pages can easily be downloaded from many websites for free. Some websites also offer free printable coloring book patterns. The advantage of coloring book pages for adults is that they contain a lot of detail that is not visible on a child's level. Free Bonus Free Digital Copy available on request
A coloring book about a family experiencing the haunted house effect would make a great gift for a child. If you give a coloring book to an older child, they may use it as a reference for coloring for their upcoming school work. Even a child who has never painted before can benefit from coloring books of this type.
The first step in creating your own coloring book is to choose a good picture that you like. There are literally thousands of pictures you can choose from, including many that you may have found on the Internet. Make sure that the picture isn't too busy to where you aren't able to identify the character. You can always edit the picture later to remove extra lines or remove some of the props to give it a better look. Once you are happy with the picture, take some time with your child to plan out the scene. Use crayons or markers to draw out the different aspects of the scene, such as doors, the jagged roof, etc.
Once you have done that, you should let your kids come up with an idea for how to put everything together. Since you will be adding more colors and other supplies to their coloring book, they need to get started right away. You can give them an outline for the ghost and tell them to color in the various details, such as eyes, clothing, etc. If you want to see examples of other types of coloring book layouts, there are many websites that will show you examples of finished products.
Once your kids have colored in all the different aspects of the book, they should send you their work. This is a great opportunity for you to check out what other people have done with these pictures. It is really amazing to see how much detail people are able to put into their drawings. You can always use a copy of the picture as-is or you can even scan it into your computer and use it for your own coloring book.
It is also a good idea to use several books for your child to color in. This way they are learning different aspects of coloring from each book and they are becoming very imaginative as well. You may even decide that you would like to have your kid do some original work on the coloring book. This will help them develop a better sense of individuality and creativity.
