Kids give themselves a huge boost when they successful start and complete any task or assignment. The same goes for educational coloring pages. As they regularly complete each coloring page, it builds positive self-esteem in them and their confidence level, causing them to increase with each coloring pages to print completed.
More than just as a stress reliever
Remember how much you loved coloring when you were a child? You’d snuggle down into another world with your coloring books and crayons, and time would pass almost unnoticed. Children today love to color just as much, plus we now know that coloring is an excellent pre-reading activity that helps children develop the eye-and-hand coordination they will need to write. Coloring books are still available in the stores if you like, but you will also find a ton of coloring pages to print in the Internet which will provide your child with a much wider range of subjects to choose from than you’ll find in books.
4. Ability to recognize colors
Keep in mind that these are coloring pages that you can keep in your kid’s scrapbook forever. This simple activity will become something that can be passed down from generation to generation.
Coloring pages are also a great party activity for your child’s birthday party. You can use your free coloring pages to have a coloring contest where of course everyone wins a prize as another fun activity.
Just how important are colors when it comes to the life of a child? An article by the Early Childhood Center–Indiana Institute on Disability and Community titled, How to help children recognize color, reads, ”When children recognize colors they are noticing, matching, sorting, and labeling the characteristics of the world around them.” The article goes on to say, ”Recognizing colors is a skill that is often difficult for children because it is necessary to know the color words, as well as to identify the abstract characteristic of color.” Colorful books are great for kids because not only are they one of many tools available at our fingertips to help children with the skill of color identification, but colorful drawings and pictures tend to capture their attention.
