Wild Planet’s Crayola Crayon Town combines drawing and coloring with construction and imaginative play. Children can color the props, buildings, and even the play mats. Sun catchers: Children love the colors that are thrown across the room through sun catchers. You can help your child create a melted crayon wax sun catcher. Give your child a pencil sharpener and let them make crayon shavings. Fold a large sheet of wax paper and sprinkle crayon shavings on half of it. With a warm iron, run the iron over the wax paper quickly. Allow the wax paper to cool and then cut it into various shapes. I then did research on the values of coloring for an adult. I found that my kids were right. Coloring is indeed a stress buster. It breaks the circuit of our over-loaded brains filled with never-ending thoughts. I found out that coloring quiets your mind as you focus on your masterpiece.

Applying color to the black and white pages of a coloring book, is creative, fun, relaxing and you get to create something to be proud of.

Unfortunately as adults, we tend to put our crayons aside for more grown up endeavors. As we mature we put away our artistic aspirations and replace them with more worthwhile activities.
