Possibilities for injuries to occur in a playground come sometimes from the equipment itself-for instance, deteriorating materials, unsafe designs, and unstable surfaces-but a lot of the injuries that occur are the result of unsafe or careless actions. The good thing about this is it puts it well within you and your child’s control.

We should check playground equipment for protruding portions, sharp edges or points, or open ”S” hooks that can cause injury or trap clothing. We should also check for equipment areas that can pinch or crush a small finger or hand.

Ease of use can go both ways because the ease of use can be how you put it together which for the one that my play set for my children the box said it would take ten hours, but little did I suspect it would take what seemed like ten years! In reality it was only three days. However, the other ease of use that you will want to take into consideration is how easy will your kids be able to climb up on certain parts of it and how easy it will be for them to play on the set.

Balancing apparatus is now available in a huge variety of options which combine a number of skills. From the traditional rope bridge and balance beam, to far more challenging spring discs and swinging logs. These are traditionally used in playgrounds for schools but are available for local parks and play areas as well.

Appealing appearance- Playground rubber tiles are eye-catching. Combine a few fashionable colours and you can create a funky pattern, the children – and their guardians – will love.

You just can’t go wrong with outdoor swing sets. Children never tire of them. Maybe it has something to do with being rocked back and forth in cradles as infants, but there’s something about swinging back and forth that gets us going-put someone behind us to give a good shove or twenty and the thrills really begin.
