Watercolor pencil crayons are one of the most versatile coloring tools that you can find because there are so many different techniques that you can create with them. If you want a strong colored image, apply the pencil crayons directly to the image just as you would with regular coloring crayons. However, if you want water colored look, you can use a blender pen to create that effect. Simply color along the edge of the image with the pencil, and use the blender pen to ”pull” the color into the desired area.
In conclusion get yourself some crayons, colored pencils, markers or paint and allow your self the freedom and stress reducing pleasure of coloring. It is good for you!
My daughter is developmentally delayed and autistic, which is very sad, yet at the same time there are many joys. She loves coloring, even as a teenager she has a very large box of coloring books of many types. She loves crayons, especially the new scented crayons; these are crayons that leave behind a scent after you color with them. They have some really good scents such as roses and linen, but most of them smell, well yucky, to me. They have scents such as dirty sneakers, wet dog, and other unusual scents.
Sun catchers: Children love the colors that are thrown across the room through sun catchers. You can help your child create a melted crayon wax sun catcher. Give your child a pencil sharpener and let them make crayon shavings. Fold a large sheet of wax paper and sprinkle crayon shavings on half of it. With a warm iron, run the iron over the wax paper quickly. Allow the wax paper to cool and then cut it into various shapes. Make butterflies or flowers with holes in them where you can tape the melted crayon wax sun catcher on the back so the light and colors shine through.
Made of a mixture of charcoal and oil, records of what were probably the first crayons are found in Europe. Later, the oil was replaced with wax making sticks that were less messy and easier to handle.
For children in the classroom and at home, using crayons provides so many benefits that we often don’t think about. Crayons are one of the first writing utensils that a child comes in contact with, and their early days of coloring can teach them how to use a certain grip to be able to have some control over their crayon. Something as simple as learning how to hold their crayons can help children later on when they have to start gripping pens and pencils correctly for proper penmanship. While coloring may seem like just having fun to a young child, they are also working on their motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Skills such as these are essential, and what could be better then improving them while enjoying yourself? Another vital benefit that comes along when using crayons is learning how to focus. This is a life skill that everyone needs to learn, and it can definitely help a child out in their upcoming school years when their classrooms are a buzz of excitement and they need to be able to focus on what they are working on as individuals. Although using a box of crayons on a regular basis can really make an impact on a child, the sad news is that not every child has them available.
