Ease of use can go both ways because the ease of use can be how you put it together which for the one that my play set for my children the box said it would take ten hours, but little did I suspect it would take what seemed like ten years! In reality it was only three days. However, the other ease of use that you will want to take into consideration is how easy will your kids be able to climb up on certain parts of it and how easy it will be for them to play on the set.

Noise reduction – This is a great feature, especially when the play area is in a dense residential area. Infants and night shift workers may be trying to sleep during the day. Noisy kids can be heard for quite a distance!

Durability – There is very little point in investing time, money and effort into creating a backyard playground if you are then going to stock it with fragile plants and shrubs that will inevitably serve as kid magnets and get destroyed.

You also want to look in the loose material and keep an eye out for glass, stones, or rocks that have migrated into it. It goes without saying that these should be removed immediately. While you’re at it, do a walk around the entire yard, at least in the vicinity of the play area, and look for anything that might cause a hazard.

Some of the best surfaces are composed of some type of loose material. This may include sawdust, wood chips, gravel, or mulch. Rubber has also become a commonly used material, and it may come in the form of large mats or it may be shredded.
