Unfortunately as adults, we tend to put our crayons aside for more grown up endeavors. As we mature we put away our artistic aspirations and replace them with more worthwhile activities.

The provided plastic parts in Crayola Crayon Town, such as the airplane for the airport set, are very durable. The only improvement to the sets would be to include additional crayons with the set rather than only four for the smaller set and eight with the larger set. However since most children already have a box or two of crayons at home so it’s not really a problem.

They have the challenge to assemble and build the setting doing whatever their imagination tells them. They can use the crayons to make their own wacky animals, vehicles, and structures. Once the town has been constructed, they can start playing and just go wherever their imagination takes them.

Binney & Smith were two men who cared about the world around us and in particular they were concerned with making the schools of the early 20th century safer and more productive for the children and teachers of that generation. Binney & Smith has been faced with competition recently from other manufacturers of crayons. I joined her in coloring, using the time to tune into her instead of against her. I found that I enjoyed coloring once again. It did its work on me also. Along with bonding with my child, I also relaxed and enjoyed the calming effect that coloring had on me.
