Art gifts can be in many forms, it can be paintings, watercolors, sculptures, photography, glass… The choice you make will depend on your budget and the taste of the person you will be giving the gift to. you may be inspired to create mandalas of your own based on those you see around you
Hence most of the people associate these mandalas to the Buddhism religion while it has manifested its presence in different forms such as the Yin Yang symbol in the Chinese culture and the circular Aztec calendar that resembles the shape of a mandala. The most commonly associated Buddhist religion and the Tibetan monks have been designing these mandalas since a long time ago which requires specialized knowledge and skill to be acquired for its design. Mandalas essentially start from a center or origin in space that extends outwards in concentric circles. They are viewed as a sacred geometry that emits and attracts positive energy.
As you well know, not everyone can sit still long enough to achieve a meditative state. The longer you sit the more difficult it is to push passing thoughts out of your mind and maintain focus. Before you know it you are fretting over work, planning a dinner menu, or just giving up. Our action-oriented, multi-tasking, Western society simply doesn’t mesh with traditional Eastern meditation techniques. This is where active meditation comes to the rescue.
Although various forms and functions of mandalas differ, they have many qualities in common: a central point, a geometric design, symmetry, purpose, and movement toward and away from a center. As Carl Jung discovered in his journaling and dream work, they evoke the pleasure that comes from working with universal patterns of line and form. When colored for healing purposes, they can alleviate tension and boredom while enhancing serenity and mental activity. When colored for purposes of spiritual exploration, they help provide an awareness of the universe and the oneness of all life.
